How to make
an MX-700/800/850 or 1000 PC cable
. . . with or
without
soldering!

The Parts (all from Radio Shack) . . .
A. 6' Stereo Cable with 1/8" Stereo Plugs - Part No. 4202387 - $3.99

B. 9-Pin Female D-Sub Socket with Crimp Terminals -
Part No. 2761428 -
$1.49 (use Part No. 2761538C
for Soldered Terminals)

C. 9-Pin D-Sub Hood - Part No. 2761539 - $1.49

2. The Tools . . .
A. A wire cutter/stripper
B. A crimping tool or needle nose pliers
3. The Procedure . . .
A. First, cut the cable to the
desired length by cutting off one of the
plugs.
B. Second, strip the outer insulation and you will see a bare stranded
copper wire, red insulated wire and a black (can be white on some
cables) insulated wire.
C. Third, strip about 1/4" of the insulation off the red and black
wires.
D.
Fourth, connect the wires to the 9-Pin D-Sub socket by inserting the
wires to the crimp terminals (on the back of the socket)
at the locations shown below, and
crimping the
connectors (or solder the wires to
the connectors):

E. Fifth, install the D-Sub
hood and you're done!
