2-Way Modules for Networked
Multi-Zone Receivers
Via the unique URC 2-Way database, your installers simply drag
and drop pre-programmed modules for full 2-Way control of all
the custom-friendly brands of multi-zone receivers.
2-Way IP Control of Media on PCs and iPods
The high speed of the LAN enables the KP-4000 to display lists
of artists, albums or songs and to display the cover art of the
selected album on the Now Playing screen of the remote control
from the PSX-2 Personal Server or from a PC.
User Configurable Internet RSS feeds for News, Sports, Stocks
and Weather
The well known URC modules for News, Sports, Weather and Stocks
are all available updated to the KP-4000 screen (and are
configured by the end user).
User-selected Scenes for URC Lighting via RFTX-1
The KP-4000’s optional RFTX-1 transmitter directly controls
URC RF Dimmers and Switches. Your client can brighten, dim, and
recall scenes, and they can store new scenes whenever they like,
without a PC or a programmer. They simply manually adjust each
dimmer to the new setting and then press and hold a scene button
on their KP-4000.
Local Control via RFTX-1 & MRF Base Station
Via an optional RFTX-1 transmitter, low cost wireless control of
a local stack of components can be done via a standard MSC-400,
MRF-350 or MRF-260.
Create and Store Playlists for Future Use
The My Music module allows end-users to create reusable
playlists on PCs connected to the system.
Stream Music from a Mac, Windows PC or Apple TV
Via AirPort Express and URC’s Streaming Music Module, an
existing iTunes client device can be connected wirelessly to a
home theater system in a distant room.
Use Presets to Control AM/FM and HD Radio
Users can enjoy direct tuning, Favorites (local or global),
presets, metadata (album art/artist) and a consistent interface.
Sirius/XM Channels with Logos
On the KP-4000, Sirius and XM come alive with full artist, album
and song metadata plus channel logos.
Energy Management and Energy Monitoring
Control Proliphix® IP thermostats and watch energy usage via
TED® (The Energy Detective).
Volume Display for Every Zone
When your clients adjust volume on a KP-4000, they’ll always
see a pop up appear on the screen, labeled for the zone they are
adjusting. If you program it to control several zones, they’ll
always know which one they are adjusting.
Network Requirements and Power Options
The KP-4000 must be connected to the same Local Area Network
(LAN) as the MRX-1 to function correctly. Additionally, in order
to enable Internet features such as RSS feeds, the LAN must be
connected to the Internet. There are three ways to power the
KP-4000. The KP-4000 is a PoE (power over ethernet) device and
can be powered by either a PoE Switch or a PoE Injector. This
has the advantage that a single CAT5 cable supplies both data
and power. The third option is to run an additional two
conductor wire to the KP-4000 from a 12V wall adapter with a 1
amp rating. (Note that PoE Injectors and 12v wall adapters are available
separately from URC.)
